James Trotter

James Trotter

James is a physiotherapist with 13 years experience and has recently returned from the Beijing Olympic Games where he was one of six physiotherapists selected in the Australian Team Medical Headquarters. He has been a consultant physiotherapist to Athletics Australia since 2001, touring extensively throughout Europe and Asia.

In 2000, he undertook the Post Graduate Scholarship in Physiotherapy at the Australian Institute of Sport, servicing elite level athletes from a variety of sports including netball, soccer, gymnastics, swimming and athletics, and working closely with medical, massage, strength and conditioning and coaching staff.

James currently provides physiotherapy services to the Woodville West Torrens Football Club, Adelaide University Football Club, SASI and National League water polo, and was co-coordinator for physiotherapy for the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Tour held in Glenelg.

He has a special interest in hip, groin, sacroliliac joint and lower back injuries as well as running biomechanics. He is an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist and APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

   

Marco Lippis

Marco is a physiotherapist with 10 years experience, and has been a consultant physiotherapist to the Australian Rowing Team since 2007

Marco is currently the senior physiotherapist to South Australian Sports Institute Rowing, diving, trampolining and gymnastic programmes. He is also the senior physiotherapist to the Contax Netball Club and provides physiotherapy serives to Adelaide University Football Club and Woodville West Torrens Football Club. Marco was also heavily involved in the FIVB World Beach Volley Ball tour held in Glenelg where he was the co ordinator for physiotherapy.

Marco has a special interst in spinal pain, sporting injuries and performance enhancement. He is an APA titled sports physiotherapist and APA titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

   
Andrew Darcey

Andrew is a physiotherapist of 10 years experience, having graduated from the University of South Australia in 1999 and completing a Masters Degree in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy in 2005.

He has worked exclusively in Private Practice over the past ten years, treating sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation patients and general musculoskeletal injuries.

His experience in Sports Physiotherapy has primarily been focused on Australian Rules Football and he has an extensive knowledge of the game having worked with SANFL clubs Woodville-West Torrens and West Adelaide, the SANFL U16 State Side and other SAAFL clubs.

He also has a strong interest in sailing, being the Physiotherapist for the SASI Sailing Squad and South Australian members of the Australian Sailing Development Squad, as well as being an athlete in the SASI squad himself in the past.

Andrew has a special interest in hamstring, groin and shoulder injuries and rehabilitation, dry needling (acupuncture) techniques, as well as biomechanical video analysis. He is an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist and APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

Chelsea is a physiotherapist and personal trainer. She currently provides physiotherapy services to Adelaide University Football Club and Woodville West Torrens Football club. Chelsea worked with the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmanian under 17 and under 19 national netball teams during the National Netball Championships held in Adelaide.
 
She has previously worked with Rostrevor Old Collegians Football Club. Chelsea currently teaches the Pilates classes for beginners and intermediates at Leading Edge Physical Therapy and Woodville West Torrens Football Club.
   
Michael Taylor

Michael has recently joined the team after completing his Master of Physiotherapy Graduate Entry at the University of South Australia. This course gave Michael an opportunity to gain in depth experiences in a wide variety of Physiotherapy roles, which included major hospitals, rehabilitation centres and in musculoskeletal outpatient settings.
 
He has a keen interest in all sports, while his main background comes from Australian Rules Football, both as a player and as a part of the support staff. In the past he has been involved in work at the Adelaide University Black’s football team in the SAAFL, helped with the ACT state under 17’s and under 19’s at the 2010 national netball championships and has undertaken work experience at the Essendon Football Club in the AFL and the Woodville West Torrens Football Club in the SANFL.   
   
Beatrice Daly

Bea is currently undertaking a Master’s in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy with the University of South Australia.
 
Bea provides physiotherapy services to the Contax Netball Club and was one of a team of Physios for the U/17 & U/19 ACT and Tasmanian netball teams at the recent 2010 National Championships.  She is also a travelling physio with the U/21 Australian Women’s Volleyball Team.
 
Bea has a particular interest in the female athlete and issues of aging in women (osteoporosis, postural change) & a particular interest in knee, ankle and shoulder rehabilitation. Bea was a member of the Australian Volleyball Team which competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics & was an AIS scholarship holder from 1997-2003. This experience has provided unique insight into the life of an elite athlete & appreciation for the necessity of active rehabilitation.  

 

 

Peter D’Argenio

Bachelor of Physiotherapy 2010

Peter graduated from the physiotherapy program at the University of South Australia in 2009 and has primarily worked in private practice since. He has a special interest in sporting injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, spinal injuries and the use of dry needling (acupuncture) as a treatment technique.
Peter has a strong interest in soccer, in which he continues to play, and provides physiotherapy services to the Adelaide Blue Eagles Soccer Club and the Futsal South Australia State Teams. He is currently also working with the Adelaide University Football Club.
During his down-time, Peter enjoys staying active through soccer, cricket and the odd round of golf.

Anthea Miller

Anthea studied Massage Therapy at SAHEC with focus on Remedial, Sports and Holistic Massage Therapy. She attained her diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy in 2003.
She has vast experience with an array of athletes and sporting people having worked with footballers from all levels of Australian Rules Football, Cricketers, Netballers, Rowers and Runners and many more.
She is able to adapt to whatever is needed for every individual who comes to see her, whether it is deep tissue therapy, pre or post event massage, post op rehabilitation.
She is able to focus on specific Musculoskeletal conditions or if you just want to chill out and relax with a deep relaxtion style of massage.
   
 

Adrian Jones

Certificate 4 in Sports massage and Tuina Amnno (Chinese remedial massage)

Tuina massage techniques focus predominately on acupressure points to bring about a greater range of movement and relaxation of the muscles and joints.

Sports massage is designed to prevent and relieve injuries and conditions that are associated with exercise. It can be carried out before, during, or after playing sport or exercising and uses techniques that are designed to increase endurance and performance, to minimise the chances of injury and, if there is an injury, to reduce the recovery time.

Through working extensively with skiers, snowboarders, cyclists and martial artists Adrian has developed his skills in these preventative and recovery massage techniques.

He is currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science at Adelaide University with the look to gain a deeper understanding of biomechanics and anatomical sciences in relation to sports and human movement.

   
Scott

Scott Weeks

Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy Member Australian Traditional Medicine Society

Scott is a massage therapist with 10 years experience. He is a health fund provider and is WorkCover accredited allowing him to provide remedial massage therapy for WorkCover, Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) & Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) claims.

Scott is the team therapist for the Australian Trampoline team and the South Australian Sports Institute Diving team. He was the team therapist for England & Scotland Diving at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the Australian Trampoline, DMT & Tumbling team at the 2007 World Championships.

Scott is also the ergonomic consultant for Oil Search Ltd where he travels to Sydney, Brisbane and Papua New Guinea to advise on workplace ergonomics. His interests are sports, lower back and occupational injuries.

Chris is a highly qualified podiatrist in the field of lower limb biomechanics and performance analysis. Chris has worked in the field of Biomechanics for much of his career, providing tailored musculoskeletal and biomechanical examinations to both high end and recreational athletes.

Chris brings to Leading Edge Physical Therapy a great level of expertise in regards to human movement and sports podiatry. His experience in biomechanics and sports podiatry has primarily been focused on running and cricket, where he provides consultant services to the South Australian Cricket Association. Chris has a strong interest in footwear biomechanics and this is reflected in his postgraduate research where he is currently developing an advanced 3-dimensional model of the foot/shoe interface for use in elite sport.

Away from his busy private practice and orthotic laboratory, Chris enjoys fine wine, a round of golf and four wheel driving.

   
 

Our Yoga Teacher

Sandra Sebelis

Sandra Sebelis has been teaching Yoga since 1984 when, she established Yoga Health and Well Being.

Sandra teaches classical yoga, following the style of her teahers, Andrew Van Elesbeth, Micael Volin, Swami Mantra Murti (Satyananda Yoga) and Howard Kent (Yoga for Health Foundation, GB).

Sandra’s public classes are progressive, on going, non sectarian and suited to all ages and levels of fitness. Private and specialised classes are available by arrangement for both Yoga and Meditation Demystified (1 hour x 6 weeks).

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a towel, mats supplied.

Times: Monday 12:30 – 1:30pm (Cost $12.00) and Tuesday and Thursday nights 6:00-7:30pm (Cost $15.00)
